3 Reasons Why Waitress Is The Sweetest Treat On Stage!

Author News DeskNews Desk, November 26th, 2018

Let us eat pie!

Since its debut on Broadway in 2016, Waitress has become the sweetest treat on the Great White Way! With four Tony nominations under their belts, Waitress is now on its national tour. Here are three reasons why you NEED to see it!

1. History Maker
When Waitress hit Broadway not only did it enchant its audiences it also made theatrical history. Waitress became the first of its kind with four women in the top creative roles! With a book (Jessie Nelson), music and lyrics (Sarah Bareilles), director (Diane Paulus) and choreography (Lorin Latarro) all lead by women.

2. The Songs
With hits like 'When He Sees Me', 'Bad Idea' and 'She Used To Be Mine', Waitress is a wonderful mix of catchy comedic choral numbers, and poignant and emotional solos. Garnering a Tony nomination for her efforts, Bareilles channels her talent for pop to give you a score that will have you laughing, crying and leaving the auditorium feeling inspired.

3. The Story
Waitress has one of the most heart-warming plots on the stage. With both light and dark moments this musical is a universal story that all can relate to in one way or another. As we chart the highs and lows of Jenna's quest for freedom the audience is shown that their dreams are valid, and are worth fighting for!

Don't miss your chance to see Waitress live when it arrives on your local stage!
